The building known as the Holt Hotel was built in 1910 as an office building and was home to two banks. In 1926, the building was sold to the Milner Holt Hotel chain. The top two floors were added and the building was remodeled into state of the art hotel. Numerous state and national dignitaries were among the hotel guests. Business began to decline in the late 1950ís and in 1978 the building was left vacant and abandoned.

The long awaited restoration of the Holt Hotel is now complete and its rebirth fulfills the dreams and visions of Wichita Falls residents. The salvation of this historical site adds vitality to our dynamic downtown district. Under the direction and leadership of the Wichita County Heritage Society, this historic building has been renovated into seven floors of loft style apartments which include a choice of eight different floor plans. The ground floor was restored for retail space. The beautiful interior finishes reflect the rich history of this stately building.

Bundy, Young, Sims & Potter, Inc received the 2005 Best Rehabilitation Award from the Texas Downtown Association for their contribution to the restoration of the Holt.
